In November 2016, Mid Sussex District Council granted outline planning permission for up to 619 new homes, a new hospice building for locally based charity St Catherine’s Hospice, a new primary school, and a new community hub on land east of Brighton Road in Pease Pottage. This established the principle of development on the site.
In October 2017, Mid Sussex councillors voted to approve detailed plans for the first phase of new homes, community hub, and hospice. The details of this planning application can be seen on the council's website here.
Thakeham has now submitted detailed plans for the second phase of the proposals. This application seeks Reserved Matters approval for up to a one form entry primary school, noise bund, play areas and playing fields.
The project will allow St Catherine's to expand their vital services
