In November 2016, Mid Sussex District Council granted outline planning permission for up to 619 new homes, a new hospice building for locally based charity St Catherine’s, a new primary school, and a new community hub on land east of Brighton Road in Pease Pottage. This established the principle of development on the site.
Locally-based housebuilder Thakeham and St Catherine’s Hospice are now seeking reserved matters planning consent for the new hospice, community hub, and first phase of new homes. A planning application for the detailed proposals was validated by Mid Sussex District Council in June 2017. These plans are available to view on the council’s website here.
